Iowa was just fine with a real nice visit to Reiman Gardens in Ames. They were having a quilt & weaver show. A pleasant surprise seeing all the creative people and amazing things they made. The gardens were very nicely done and maintained well. All we heard about the flooding in Ames the gardens were completely spared. No drinking water except bottled water. That must be hard for a whole city.
We Spent our first nite in Howard, South Dakota. A sparse farming community. Hard life I suspect.
We drove thru over the Missouri River "Lake Sharpe" at the Big Ben control dam. We drove thru the Badlands and Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and passed by Wounded Knee. I have mixed feelings about the Indians have been treated and what ever can be done about it.
